Robert Riemerschmid is credited as the inventor. Georg Hemmeter is listed as the sole manufacturer on the product label. Escorial experienced its first boom as a cult drink, parallel to absinthe in the 1920s. Escorial is enjoyed neat, on ice, or in cocktails on a variety of occasions. In the kitchen, it is often used to flamb dishes and desserts. Taste: tart sweet
